I See Myself as The Next Iddi Masaba -DJ Polo

Meet Dj polo who is one of Bugisu’s finest upcoming Hip-hop and Luwengele star. He started his music carrier in October 2021.

Dj Polo has so released a couple songs including Kuliko ft Mr. Bwasha, Insonyiwe, Wenyene, Ikugana Naabi among others . These songs have received good air play on many stations in the region and beyond.

Dj polo is making one year in the music industry and currently working on releasing his Extended Play Mini Album(EP) dubbed ‘Winner’.

This inspirational EP compilation has been produced by top producers in Mbale city. These include Masta Beats of Amb productions, Kushese Drummer Boy of Record 40 and lovin pro from live touch records.

This EP has a bonus track dubbed ‘Baby’ which features diva Immy kay that has already hit the air waves of major stations in Mbale city.

Dj Polo and Priscilla

Dj polo hit the music industry with his first song Kuliko featuring Mr. Bwasha that shot him to the limelight.

He has also released a couple of songs like Bajeti featuring Christopher Masaba and Homeless.

Biography.

Dj Polo born Kapewo Paul, is a son of Biritiyo Wabulo and Mary Namono of sironko district. He was natured and brought up by his step mother, the Late Nabukwisa Mary.

Education Background:
Polo is a qualified journalist who trained through Islamic university of Uganda (IUIU).

He is currently working with one of the top radio stations in the region Elgon fm as a programs director and the official DJ of the station.

Dj Polo

Musical Career.

His love for music started when he was young way back at Iganga Boys Boarding primary school. He featured much into the school choir where he was chosen as a chapel lead singer since primary four to primary seven.

Being passionate about music, Polo joined entertainment clubs like interact and drummer clubs during high school.

Dj polo says he was inspired by the legendary artist Iddi Masaba of Nanyunza band to join music.

He asserts that his dream in music is to keep local touch Luwengele music alive as he aims at emulating Iddi Masaba.

‘’I personally don’t compete with any one in music because I have far different taste of music compared to other artists. I do mostly Hip-hop and Luwengele music that is not adopted by others’’ affirmed Polo.

Dj polo also also working on growing a music Lebel known as Bugisu Nation Music (BNM) to give a hand in promoting talents and distribution music from Bugisu.
