
Jacob Kiplimo is a 21 year aged Ugandan who hails from Eastern Uganda and a member of the Sebei ethnic group. Jacob was born and raised in the slopes of Mt Elgon in Bukwo district.
Just like it has been the trend for most of the highland men, basically from Sebei region. Majority are taking a centre stage in the Uganda’s athletics arena, at the age of 15 Kiplimo won the 10,000 metres bronze medal at the 2016 IAAF World U20 Championships.

Kiplimo lately won men’s 10000m final race to clinch a gold medal at the ongoing Common Wealth Games in Birmingham 2022 at Alexander Stadium .

Kiplomo finished his well controlled race in a games record time of 27 minutes, 9 second and 19 micro seconds. He finished ahead of his challenger main Daniel Ebenyo, who finished second to take silver in 27:11.26. Another Kenyan Kibiwott Kandie finished 3rd to take bronze in a timing of 27:20.34
