Youths to Reap Big in the Parish Model Dev’t Program

The district production officer for kaliro district Fred Max Mbalumya has urged people with disabilities, youths, women and others among the selected beneficiaries of the parish model program to actively engage and participate to fight poverty in their respective communities.

“I now encourage you my people with disabilities, youths and all categories to get engaged in the parish development model program” Fred Mbalumya revealed.
He further said that the fund is for agricultural activities which require land for cultivation and it is a revolving fund where by one borrows and pays back in their respective groups.
The cabinet approved categories like women, people with disabilities, youths among others to be the beneficiaries of the parish development model program.
The model is going to be implemented through a committee at the parish level which includes seven people. It is based on the seven pillars namely production, storage, processing and marketing, infrastructure and economic services, financial inclusion, provision of social services, community information among others.
Government has committed shs.42 Trillion for the implementation of Parish Development Model and shs.100 Million to be injected per Parish yearly.
